WHAT TO DO IN MONACO?

Monaco

Monaco is a beautiful micro-state on the French Riviera, just 45 minutes by bus from Nice (France) airport. I got to spend a few days in this tiny country and I loved it to bits. It’s fascinating to see the extravagant lifestyle where you will see the most fanciest cars on a row and enormous yachts.

This place is well-known for the casino and the Grand Prix races. Good to know: all taxi rides within Monte Carlo have a fixed price of €15. It’s a really small city/country. I loved my walks through all the streets and the boulevard. Here are a few things you can do when you’re in Monaco!

1. Jardin Exotique

My high light of Monaco was Jardin Exotique, located on a hill. In my opinion, a must-visit if you’re in Monaco. You will find a beautiful garden with lots of cactuses and a gorgeous view of Monte Carlo.

Tip: take bus 2 to get there from Monte Carlo. If you buy the ticket from the vending machine it costs €1,50 per ride, or buy it in the bus for €2 per ride.

2. Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo

Treat yourself with a spa day at Thermes Marins. The jacuzzi with the Monaco view is pretty epic right?!

3. L’Hirondell

Right at the Thermes-Marins spa, you can have lunch at L’hirondell. You can actually enjoy your lunch here during your spa in your bathrobe. We had a delicious 3-course meal here on the terrace with a view over the harbour.

4. Casino

The icon of Monte-Carlo is the casino. The entrance fee is €12.
We didn’t have much time so we didn’t pay to get in. Though we took a look in the hall and the room with slot machines.

5. Cafe de Paris

Right in front of the casino is café de Paris. We stopped here for a coffee, it’s the perfect spot to observe the casino crowded, counting all the porches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc.

6. Buddha Bar

We enjoyed the “Family style prestige” menu at the Buddha Bar. Live DJ was playing in this trendy restaurant/lounge club. Look how cute the shrimp curry was served in a coconut.
