In May I went on a road trip to Switzerland. This country is oh so beautiful. I couldn’t get enough of the views. The only thing is that everything is very expensive. It came to a point that we went to the McDonalds and still had to pay 25€ for the 2 of us. So, if you have saved up some money I can totally recommend to go to Switzerland.
I wanted to go to Switzerland, because I came across an infinity pool picture that I found on Pinterest. I put that on my bucket list and was determined to visit that place one day. Luckily that day came sooner than I thought.
Of course Lucerne was so much more than that pool. Take a look at these snaps and there will be a video of our weekend in Switzerland next!
— Toboggan run —
Toboggan run is such a fun thing to do in the mountains. We drove to Engelberg first, which was about 30 minutes from Lucerne. Once you arrive, you can take the cablecar to go to the top. At the top you will find a recreation area where you can take a walk, area for the kids to play, have a lunch and the toboggan run circuit to race down the mountains. It should be a race though, but I took my time, shoofing down, enjoying every second of the amazing view.
— Four Forested Settlements Lake —
Find a hotel with a view over Lake Lucerne. This is the fourth-largest lake in Switzerland. It’s pretty surreal to wake up with a view overlooking this lake and the Swiss Alps in the background. Highly recommended to put this on your bucket list.

Take a walk alongside the lake. Very romantic!
— Explore the streets —
Wander around town is the best way to get to know a city. Lucerne is a perfect city to do this. Everywhere you go you will see beautiful architecture. Actually, it looks like a place from a Disney movie 🙂

Here are a few tourist attractions that we found: Château Gütsch, the Lion monument, and Seebad.
— Hotel Villa Honegg —
Here is the ultimate infinity pool that I was talking about. These photos aren’t doing this place any justice though. You don’t have to stay at this hotel to take a dip in the pool, you can also book a spa day here. And if you are really really rich, you can land here with your helicopter too 😉
