Hotel Shangri-La Kowloon Hong Kong

Shangri-La Kowloon

Which hotel would you stay when you could choose between two Shangri-La’s in Hong Kong- one in Kowloon and one on Hong Kong Island? You can’t go wrong with either luxurious option. I selected Shangri-La Kowloon because I wanted to explore this area some more, in particular Tsim Sha Tsui. Also, Shangri-La Kowloon has an indoor pool, which I gladly took advantage of since it was still chilly outside in March.

Let me just say that their hospitality was one of the finest I got to experience in my whole blog career thanks to the Shangri-La Kowloon team. The luxury started right at our arrival they brought us to our room for the check-in. Having reviewed many hotels, I can confidently say the service stood out. Every detail was thoughtful and well-executed.

I stayed at this expansive here with my little fam, my husband and 1,5-year daughter, for 4 nights. To give a comprehensive review, I’ll divide the hotel into sections: the room, breakfast, Horizon Club, and extras. Sit back and get comfortable while I share the details.

Deluxe Harbour View Room

When I entered our room, I was immediately in awe of the spacious layout and stunning harbor view. The panoramic vista of the water was mesmerizing – I couldn’t get enough of gazing out at the scenic Hong Kong harbor. The guest experience manager’s eye for detail was evident in the thoughtful gifts and kids’ amenities set up for us. I knew we would feel right at home during our four-day stay. The room exuded luxury in every detail. Each time we returned from our daily excursions, a delicious surprise awaited us on the table. The turn-down service added the extra touch  of luxury to perfectly capped off our busy days.

Shangri-La Kowloon’s breakfast buffet at Café Kool is the best I’ve ever had. The vast array of fresh Asian dishes delighted me – from Yung Kee’s dim sum and Mak’s noodles to the dosai station in the main buffet area, the choices were endless. Thoughtful touches like chrysanthemum tea to balance the yang and jars of preserved fruit made the experience special. We enjoyed the breakfast so much that we went twice, even though we had access to the Horizon Club breakfast as well. I’m glad we tried both.

Hotel Lobby

A grand entrance when you walk in the hotel lobby. Classy chic vibes featuring impressive chandeliers and stunning artworks that catch the eye. In the afternoons, live music performances might fill the space with beautiful melodies.

Horizon Club Lounge

The Horizon Club offers exclusive executive privileges on the 20th and 21st floors. Horizon Club guests enjoy priority check-in and checkout with a personal host, as well as complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails. Open daily from 6:30am to 9:00pm, the lounge provides a refined oasis amidst the bustle of Hong Kong. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast for two mornings, afternoon tea one day, and farewell cocktails on our final evening. Hong Kong’s endless possibilities for tourists lured us out to explore this incredible city, otherwise we would have lingered so much longer at the Horizon Club Lounge.

Health Club

Hotel guests have access to a health club featuring a 24-hour gym (sorry but not sorry we didn’t use it this time), indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, and sauna. We took a quick dip in the pool one evening to get some extra exercise.
