Weeks in the quarantine and you see so many creative shots on social media. This situation really pushes me to be creative too. I was brainstorming with Celisze for a shoot to help each other. I share a creative space with her at Base Create Collab (Iโm the co-founder, but Iโll tell you more in another post). Base Create Collab is situated in the heart of Amsterdam. As we couldnโt just shoot outside during the โlockdownโ, we went to our rooftop and did this shoot with at least 1,5 meter distance!! I really love the results, one of my favorite shot is the one here above, which I turned myself into a cover girl =D
Q&A with Celise
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Celise, I’m 33 years old/young and I am aย fashion & street style photographer. I like to be creative so when I am not making pictures I enjoy painting & drawing. Next to this, I am also a class assistant at a primary school which I do on a substitute base. Currently, I am living with my boyfriend in Amsterdam but we will be moving to Haarlem in August because we bought our first house together. I am very excited about that!
What is your photography style?
I love to shoot Fashion & street style. My preference normally goes out to streetwear and sneakers but lately, I am also leaning towards the editorial fashion shoots. I like the creative artistic kinda shots that are involved in the editorial photoshoots. My photography style right now I like to call it a bit street-vibed, using cool tones, instead of warm tones and I prefer to use outside location for a photo shoot. As I mentioned I am exploring editorial photography at the moment, with the editorial shots I like to use nude tones and natural lighting and be more artistic.
Which camera do you use?
I shoot with aย Canon5D mark IV, a really nice camera to work with!
Which project are you most proud of?
That would be the shoot I did withย The athlete’s foot for Adidas. Adidas celebrates 50 years’ existence of the Superstar sneaker this year and I got the chance to shoot the campaign for the athlete’s foot. We shot at a really cool location with a great team. The photos are not out yet but I believe the campaign will be launched in June as its been on hold because of the COVID-19 virus.
What is on your bucket list?
If you mean photography? I think it would be great to be the in-house photographer for a fashion magazine. The ideal situation would be if I could do fashion shoots for them but then also be sent to the fashion weeks to make street-style shots! That would be my dream job!
What was the inspiration for this shoot with Lily?
As I mentioned, I am exploring editorial photography at the moment. I wanted to do a shoot that was leaning more toward editorial instead of the streetwear photoshoots that I normally do. Also, this shoot was made during the COVID-19. We wanted to stay productive and create content together taking the 1.5m distance into account… We went to the rooftop of the Base Creat Collab office and I used an 85mm lensย so we could keep enough distance from each other. I wanted to capture Lily like she is, friendly, bubbly & pretty but I also liked to trigger the fashion vogue model in her a bit and get the cover shot she deserves
