Casale dei tigli
I have been traveling a lot the last couple of years. Mostly alone on a press trip or with my boyfriend Nigel. I don’t see my family and friends that often, so this trip to Italy was extra special as Interhome provided a beautiful villa for me and my closest friends!
In total, we were with 7 adults and 3 kids. The location was the Umbria region. I haven’t heard much of this place, but I can tell you after spending a week there, it’s a destination for anyone who loves beautiful landscapes (I have seen the most beautiful sunsets here), relatively cheap for super delicious food and diverse and cozy little villages to explore with uber nice Italian people.
And for the first time, I can “kids-prove” a destination as we have traveled with three (6 years, 4 years & 1 year old). More about what to do in Umbria in a separate article.
As our Interhome villa is situated on a hill between lots of olive trees and local people, we could really enjoy the local experience. Something we were hoping to find when we were doing our research.
Our Interhome villa, Casale dei tigli, has an enormous property! The villa is 2 floors, 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 kitchens. Everything is quite simple but cute. From the room upstairs there is a view over the Trasimeno lake, which you can reach in less than 5 minutes by car.
Outside there is a big garden, including a tennis court and swimming pool! At night we stayed cozy in front of the fireplace. On the warmest day, we even had a little BBQ in the garden. The supermarket and great restaurants are really close. Kitchen gear and laundry possibility are there. So the villa is as complete as it can be if you ask me.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was an amazing first Interhome experience! For the collaboration, I didn’t have to pay for the Villa, but I checked the price and it was only around €750 for that week! We decided to make this an annual tradition. We are already thinking of the destination for next year 🙂
Tips when you stay here:
– Car is necessary to get the most out of Umbria
– Bring your own tennis rackets and balls if you want to play
– Extra toilet paper
– Firewood for the cozy nights (available in the supermarkets nearby)
– Bug repellant
– Bring your own extra towels (only one set available)
– Games
– Optional, a Bluetooth box for music
