What a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday during Covid-times with a staycation in my own city! I had a glimpse of Kimpton de Witt before, years ago, for an event. I remembered to be designful and elegant. Marie-Stella-Maris (one of my favorite home and body product brands) is scented all through the hotel and the products are waiting to be used in your room. It truly is a beautiful city hotel to stay at in the middle of the buzzing Amsterdam
In addition to my fiancรฉ, I got to bring my little adventure cat, Mochi, with me to experience all of this. This was one of my excitements, for Mochi to stay at a hotel for the first time since we have him.
Since we were hotel guests, I could celebrate my birthday with a feast at the hotel restaurant Celia. A restaurant I surely would re-visit when itโs open for everyone again.ย

We stayed in theย Executive King roomย and it was very spacious! One of the best things about this room is how intricate the bathroom is. I couldn’t stop staring at the blue tiles. The Kimpton provides many amenities alongside the room.ย

The design of the room is in line with the rest of the hotel: modern, tasteful, beautiful coordination, and artsy.ย
Our room consists of a king-size bed, an ensuite bathroom, and a fully stocked mini-bar! The bed was very very comfy!
BIRTHDAY DINNER AT CELIA
Celia Amsterdam is part of Kimpton’s restaurants. A modern-American cuisine, Celia brings California vibes to Amsterdam. Their menu ranges from healthy to fulfilling dishes. There is a great mixture of large and small dishes to have a feast on. We got to try lots of different dishes such as theย Fried Fish Taco, Burrata with Mushroom and Pumpkin, Sweet Potato with Lime Yoghurt,ย and the Beef Steak with Kimchi Fennel.ย
As restaurants are closed right now due to the lockdown in the Netherlands, the only way to eat at a restaurant is when you’re a guest of the hotel. We almost had the whole restaurant to ourselves! Alcohol is possible until 8 pm (according to the latest regulations).
It was a beautiful experience and we got the best service.ย
BREAKFAST
It was difficult to wake up with such a comfy bed, but breakfast was calling me! The breakfast was also held at Celia. We did not have a breakfast buffet but instead chose a breakfast dish and ample amounts of pastries and fruit, not to forget coffee too!
