Esmee went home in the morning and I had one more full day in Malta to spend with Nigel. On the recommendation of many people, we rented a car and hopped on a ferry with it to the island Gozo (20 minutes).
I got some great tips from the hotel manager and some followers. I am so glad we went there!

โ Ferry to Gozo โ
โ Citadel โ
Walking at the Citadel is almost surreal. What a beautiful place within the impressive walls. You can imagine how it was to go back hundreds of years back in time. On the walls, you can enjoy a beautiful skyline view of Gozo.
โ Hidden gem โ
I got this tip from the hotel manager to have lunch at Ricardo’s within the Citadel walls. A true hidden gem of Gozo if you ask me. This restaurant is located in a very old building, with the ancient characteristics intact, itโs like you going back in time. What you have to do is to go 2 stories up (through very small old stairs) to the rooftop terrace. You will have a fantastic view from up there. The perfect place to enjoy wine and Maltese bread (Hobza).
We were all alone on the terrace, it felt like we found a treasure here. The high light of the entire trip ๐

โ Game of Thronesย โ
As an addicted โGame of thronesโ watcher, I of course had to see the film location at Azure window. The wedding scene of Daenaris and Drogo was filmed here.
We bought an ice cream here (Nigel is a big Maxibon fan) and enjoyed the cliff with a lot of tourist. I was surprised I got these shots with no one else in the picture!
โ Red castle โ
On our way back (on Malta again), we saw this red castle on a hill. We were curious enough to make a little stop here. Too bad the castle was closed already, yet enough for a picture moment though ๐
