AN EVENING IN LAVENO, ITALY

You know, I didn’t realize that I needed this trip to take a break from everything. When I decided this year to travel less, I made my peace with it to not travel 2-3 times a month anymore for the time being. In some ways, I got to rest more, because being on the road all the time can be exhausting. However, I also began to feel a bit restless, because of the wanderlust in me.

Nigel and I decided to go on a little road trip to Italy again. Something we do yearly, though we always make sure to discover places that we haven’t visited before. We combined this trip with an excuse that we were going to scout locations for the wedding. We know by now which places we definitely don’t want to throw a wedding and I think… I THINK.. we have a winner!!

I also realize that it is almost impossible for me to organize this wedding without a local wedding planner. Someone who has the connections, speaks the language, and can translate all my wishes to our dream day. I will keep you posted on the wedding front.

As I said, this little break did wonders for me. I truly get inspired by travels to bring new energy home.
It was our second time at Lago Maggiore in Italy. I fell in love with this lake and I think this might be a very good option for the wedding. The scenery of the mountains, lake, Italian vibes is just the perfect combination that makes you feel like you’re dreaming.

We drove around the lake and made plenty of stops, including this stop at Laveno. Initially, we parked here to get ice creams, but in the end, we stayed here to watch the beautiful sunset at the dock and had our dinner on a lovely balcony. Perfect end of our first day in Italy if you ask me <3
