CHRISTMAS TREE WITH A STORY
Christmas time is probably my favorite time of the year. It gives me all warm feelings. As we grow older, we come to understand the significance of this holiday season.
My parents worked tirelessly running their Asian supermarket since before I was born. They work all the time. Like 6-7 days a week. Me and my brother spent our time mostly with different babysitters when we were young. A few mandatory days in a year the supermarket is closed, including Christmas.
We always celebrate it with our family, eating good food in each others company, great laughters, and at home there were presents under the tree.
It was a tradition that I have cherished for many years and it has inspired me to continue my own traditions with my own little family adding my own touch.

It starts with decorating my home in a cosy way, almost like Christmas has threw up on us hehe. I started collecting fun ornaments a few years ago to make our tree more personal. I keep adding new ones every year, because let’s be honest, these fun ornaments are definitely not cheap (it’s getting so expensive every year, it’s really ridiculous). Yet, I am here for it.
I guess it has become a real trend, as the collections is so big these days and cooler than ever. So many different themes and colors to choose from. My favorite brands are Vondels, HP Collection, de Bijenkorf Home and Kurt Adler.
You can say this hobby has gotten out of hands. We upgraded the tree this year from 1.20m to 2.30m. I take pride in decorating my home in a special and personal way. Collecting unique ornaments every year is a tradition that I treasure. It’s not only just about the ornaments, but the memories and stories they tell. I have the following themes in our tree at the moment: Lily, Nigel, Yuna and Asian.
I invest in a few must haves each year before Christmas. This year I will get these:

FUN CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS WISH LIST
And then I wait for after Christmas sales, to shop the rest with discounts.
I wonder how many fellow Christmas freaks are out there. I am lucky that I can share this craziness a few of my girlfriends who are the same. We go this sale together at de Bijenkorf as our own tradition.
Here are my favorites that are on my wish list now. Which ones are you getting this year?
